The Barge and the Bear, Blue Oyster Gallery, Dunedin, New Zealand - July/ August 2008

This was an exhibition of naìˆve yet poetic object-sculptures combined with photographs and text. I was interested in striking a delicate balance between playfulness and focused intentions, and creating something that looked like a series of disparate thoughts and experiences. Many of the works were small in scale. I presented the small works on a large table, as if models or propositions. Photographs were fixed to painted cardboard boxes, and words alluding to thoughts and aimless wandering were painted onto various materials and scattered throughout the show.
